Scattering Garden Competition | Niagara, Ontario
In collaboration with: Ronnie Kataki
Our proposal for the scattering garden in Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery focuses on the idea of landscape playing a vital part in the experience of the occupant moving through it. In
an attempt to isolate the site from the surrounding context, the scheme plays with the condition of being “submerged” within this undulating landscape that also frames picturesque views for facilitating the ritual of scattering. A wall composed of black granite panels is integrated seamlessly into the landscape to act as a collective tombstone.
